Fun Fact: A play on words for the French for "good winter" (bon hiver), the Wisconsin based band is led by singer/songwriter Justin Vernon. The album For Emma, Forever was written when Vernon isolated himself in rural Wisconsin in order to heal from a severe case of mononucleosis. He did not intend to write music during this time, however an album began to manifest itself and Vernon followed it, writing and recording all the songs alone in a cabin in the north Wisconsin woods.
